Unhinged

Google unhinged and you are likely to find a bunch of news referencing Trump, but under the category ‘People also ask’ I came across the question ‘is Unhinged worth watching?’ Well, that largely depends on whether or not you like trashy B-movies. Which is exactly what Unhinged is.

The King of Staten Island

Judd Apatow’s latest, The King of Staten Island, tells the story of Scott (Pete Davidson), a 24-year-old who still enjoys the comforts of living at home with his widowed mother, Margie (Marisa Tomei). That is, until she starts seeing someone new and gently points out that it might be time to move out. Which poses a bit of a problem for Scott seeing as he hasn’t quite yet managed to turn his dream of opening a restaurant doubling as a tattoo parlor, into reality.

The Hunt

Loosely inspired by Richard Connell’s ‘The Most Dangerous Game,’ this B-movie about ‘liberal elites’ hunting and killing ‘deplorables’ for sport garnered quite some free publicity before its release thanks to right-wing nuts and even Trump himself lashing out in righteous anger. Which is actually funnier than most of the jokes in this movie. I mean, if an over-the-top movie that doesn’t take itself serious for a single second upsets you, then I guess it makes sense you are also the type of person who would vote for Trump.

Anyway, back to ‘The Hunt’.

Maximö Park - Nature Always Wins

Maxïmo Park have shared new track "I Don't Know What I'm Doing", taken from their upcoming new album Nature Always Wins (out 2/26 on Prolifica Inc.). The new track is the band at their most direct and agile, arriving in a revved-up and snaking flurry it confronts the fear, anxiety and guilt associated with the cause-and-effect nature of one’s own actions.
