DFMK DFMK Punk Rock Theory

Like Johnny Depp said in ‘Once Upon A Time In Mexico’ back when he still had something resembling a career: ‘are you a Mexi-can or a Mexi-cant?’.

DZ Deathrays - Positive Rising: Part 2

Alcopop! Records are overjoyed to announce news of Australian party punks DZ DEATHRAYS’ fifth studio album Positive Rising: Part 2. This highly anticipated follow up to 2019’s Positive Rising: Part 1 will be released Friday 9th July 2021 via Alcopop! Records (UK) and IOHYOU (AUS).

An anthemic sonic pep talk built for the live stage, the new single is drenched in everything DZ Deathrays fans adore about the band, and a showcase of what Positive Rising: Part 2 has in store.

Bad Boys For Life

Original bad boys Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) are back in the long awaited third installment of the dormant franchise that plays right into the first two movies’ strengths. Lots of bad people are getting shot, shit is being blown up and there is plenty of Smith and Lawrence’s banter and mildly amusing jokes to go round. And it all looks stylish and sleek thanks to the visual flair of Belgian duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah who have taken over directing duties from Michael Bay (who makes a cameo as an emcee at a wedding).

The Silencing

Following the disappearance of his teenage daughter five years ago, Rayburn Swanson (played by Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) gave up hunting and started a wildlife sanctuary named after his daughter. He stuck with his drinking problem though and mostly keeps to himself.

Black Christmas

Just when you thought this year couldn’t possibly get any worse, you find yourself watching ‘Black Christmas’.

Let’s be honest. The 1974 original already wasn’t that great to start with. The story - which revolved around a couple of sorority girls receiving threatening calls and then getting picked off one by one by a mysterious masked killer - is pretty cliché by today’s standards. Not so much back in 1974 when this was one of the first slasher movies ever. Which is kind of the main reason people still remember it. Well, that and because it inspired John Carpenter’s ‘Halloween’.

chamberlain - Red Weather

Folllowing the release of the 'Raise It High' EP and a tour with The Gaslight Anthem back in 2010, things went kinda quiet around Chamberlain. Did they call it a day? Far from it as it turns out. On November 30, these Midwest emo pioneers are will be releasing their brand new album 'Red Weather,' their first new full-length since 1998.

'Red Weather' was recorded and produced in Nashville by Carl Broemel, who plays guitar in My Morning Jacket.
