The Obsessives - Monastery

The difference between being 18 and 24 isn’t the world, but at the same time, it is. The Obsessives’ sound has clearly grown up with them, and it's apparent from one listen to their upcoming EP, Monastery, out February 12 on Memory Music. Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip gets the absolute best out of the Philadelphia-based band, and it's on no better display than in their breezy new single "Lala."

Dollar Signs - Hearts Of Gold

Dollar Signs have revealed details on their upcoming full-length album, ‘Hearts Of Gold’ out March 12 through Pure Noise Records.

“Many people see us as a boozy punk band, so I had the idea of writing a song with a very party-drink-the-saddest-away chorus while the verses and bridge are a critique on bars and “drinking culture”,” says front person Erik Button. “The chorus of the song is about trying to drink away your problems, and the verses reveal all about how that is impossible.”

Decent Criminal - DC EP

Decent Criminal are back with 3 (well, four actually) brand new tracks on this 7-inch EP. The band really utilizes the space in the studio on these tracks, pulling new tricks out of their hat and pulling out all the stops. With the help of long-time friend of the band Scott Goodrich they have put together a tasty example of where the band is going musically, all while staying close to their roots of energetic and smart songwriting.

Hanalei - Black Snow

Hanalei is the brainchild of Brian Moss (The Ghost, Great Apes, Olehole, Wunder Years) and the moniker has been a vehicle used to explore indie and folk-tinged soundscapes through a punk lens. The project has the flexibility to shift from full-blown band to a stripped-down solo endeavor, and each release tends to showcase a different manifestation. As of late, Brian's been committed to self-recording with a fairly minimalistic setup. This has led to 'Black Snow,' Hanalei's first new album in over 10 years which is due out on March 12th via A-F Records.
