We are happy to share the music video for ‘A Year Without Sleep,’ the latest single to be taken off Bad Planning’s upcoming album ‘Et Fortes,’ out next Friday on Jump Start Records (pre-order). 'A Year Without Sleep' packs some serious pop-punk punch and couples it with great effect to hardcore energy and plenty of singalong action.

“This song is the most positive thing I’ve ever written,” says Bad Planning’s Alex Crook. I wrote it after my daughter was born. It’s a song for her and my son that tackles the idea that although this world can seem so broken, hope for a better future is possible through how we raise our children.”

Bad Planning previously tapped from the same vein as fellow Chicago natives Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, and The Lawrence Arms. But in 2019 the band released “Splitting Hairs” alongside Chicago’s A Semester Abroad, bringing on a heavier side with singles “Be Brave” and “Actors”. The band continued to promote the split and play shows while writing their first full release, “Et Fortes”.

The band says, “This record represents a lot of growth for our band; past sound blending with new sound, and longtime bandmates with new ones. Writing this record gave us a sense of purpose during lockdown, and we can’t wait to share it.”

The four-piece, consisting of Alex Crook, Jack Coombs, Aaron Hornback, and Miles Schuett, teamed up with Jump Start Records in May 2021, sharing a strong DIY ethos and love for punk rock.
