Nick Metherell

Nick has been into all things punk rock ever since he heard The Clash in his early teens while roaming the English countryside. The mid/late 90s Epi/Fat boom coincided nicely with Nick reaching an age where he could start going to shows. And with London an hour's train ride away, he was all set. Not content to be just an observer and consumer of the punk scene, Nick put out a semi-regular zine called Dirty Dog between '98 and '02. He also contributed to Dying Scene, before being demoted to writing for Punk Rock Theory. Up the countryside punx!

Don't Panic - Dark Horse

Pennsylvania's rising pop-punk rockers DON'T PANIC are gearing up to release their second full-length album, Dark Horse, on September 3rd. Today, the band reveals the record's third single, "Ramona," which is available for streaming everywhere.

Commenting on the new song, vocalist/guitarist Ted Felicetti states:

Slow Crush - Hush

'Hush’ is the gloomy & dreamy sophomore album by Belgium based and internationally celebrated shoegazers, Slow Crush. The album radiates moonlit warmth through a haze of abrasive whirling layered guitars and soul soothing vocals by Isa Holliday.

The lull of wistful longing and tranquil bearing, contrasting cascading echoes of beautiful noise, 'Hush' surpasses their highly acclaimed debut album ‘Aurora’ in both song writing and musicianship.

The Last Gang - Noise Noise Noise

The year is 2021. America is still fighting its way through an ongoing pandemic, currently fueled by the ignorance of millions who have decided science isn’t good enough for them. Countless lives have been lost or disrupted by an inefficient government loaded with corrupt politicians, egged on by snake oil salesmen who are inexplicably given nightly platforms on cable TV or allowed to spread their disinformation through social media. Make no mistake: Rome is burning. We are fiddling.

Underoath - Voyeurist

Underoath revealed their seventh full-length, Voyeurist, set for release on January 14th via Fearless Records. To celebrate the announcement, the band shared the new track “Hallelujah”, which serves as the second single from Voyeurist.

Guitarist, Tim McTague summarizes the track perfectly:

Taken from the unlikely source of the video game Dark Souls, the album’s title; Illusory Walls “refers to a hidden surface that seems to prevent entry, but upon inspection is nothing more than a visual illusion,” vocalist/guitarist David F. Bello.

Public Service Broadcasting - Bright Magic

Public Service Broadcasting have shared new single and video, “Blue Heaven”, taken from their highly anticipated fourth album, Bright Magic, set for release on September 24th, 2021 via Play It Again Sam. Featuring vocals from Andreya Casablanca of Berlin garageistes Gurr, “Blue Heaven” is an anthem of proud self-determination inspired by Marlene Dietrich, who according to the band’s J. Willgoose, Esq. was “a self-made myth to come out of Berlin”.
