American grunge pioneers, L7, have signed with Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records for their first album in 20 years, Scatter the Rats, due out May 3, 2019. "I’ve been friends with L7 for years and am very excited and proud to have the opportunity to release their new album on Blackheart!" shares Jett. “When we decided to make a new record, Joan was there for us as the good friend she has always been. FURY announce their sophomore album, Failed Entertainment, coming May 3 on Run For Cover Records -- their first release since signing to the label last year. Forming in 2014, FURY have established themselves quickly. Captain Asshole started in March 2016. Primarily as an excuse to get together to drink beer, Buschi, Manu and Max would meet up at Buschi’s dorm room and write songs. With no room for a drum set and not even a real drummer things started on a very strange rough note with drum computers used for half a year.
Remember Cabin In The Woods? The movie that was a horror movie but also a pastiche of horror movies? I sure do. Okay, things got batshit crazy towards the end, but it still made me look forward to director Drew Goddard’s new movie. Which is called Bad Times at the El Royale, a neo noir movie that looks beautifully retro and will make you think of Tarantino at least once. Most likely a lot more.
