Canada's The Dirty Nil have been tearing their way through the world's grimiest basements and loudest clubs for years, and their new LP ‘Master Volume,’ (Dine Alone Records, out September 14th) multiplies their JUNO-winning (Breakthrough Group of the Year) sound to stadium-filling, nosebleed-reaching dimensions. Asserting an amplified, technically informed, yet polish-free style, the band proves their punk mastery while retaining all of their raw, buzzed-out power.

St. Louis’ Foxing will release their highly-anticipated third album, Nearer My God, on August 10. Created over the course of nearly 3 years, Nearer My God was produced in St. Louis and Montreal by Chris Walla (Death Cab For Cutie, The Decemberists) and Foxing guitarist and songwriter Eric Hudson, with help from Joe Reinhart (Hop Along, Modern Baseball).

Philadelphia's Thin Lips have just announced the release of their sophomore record Chosen Family, set to be released on July 27th via Lame-O Records.

Leeds punks, Eat Defeat have today announced details of their new record, 'I Think We'll Be OK'. The 10-track album will be released through Bearded Punk Records on August 3rd, available on vinyl, CD and digital download. To celebrate the news, the band have shared the lead single 'A Little Less Than OK'.

Muncie Girls have announced that their hotly-anticipated second album ‘Fixed Ideals’ will be released on 31st August via Specialist Subject Records in the UK & Europe, Buzz Records in North America and Lost Boy Records in Australia. The album was produced by Muncie Girls’ longterm collaborator Lewis Johns (Funeral For A Friend, Rolo Tomassi, Gnarwolves) at The Ranch and mastered by Emily Lazar at The Lodge (Morrissey, Coldplay, Haim).

Leeds-based Menace Beach return with news of their third album 'Black Rainbow Sound', which is due out August 31st via Memphis Industries.

Andy Cairns tells a great story about Therapy?’s spring UK tour with The Stranglers. As the trio walked onstage in Kilmarnock, Scotland, their frontman noticed a solitary punter, three rows from the front, vigorously booing his band before a single amplified guitar chord had been struck. Each successive song in the set received the same vociferous, relentlessly hostile response. Two nights later, at Nottingham Rock City, the antagonist was back once more, front and centre, still booing, though with markedly less enmity than before.
