Swingin’ Utters - Peace And Love

Swingin’ Utters are back with their first album in four years, Peace and Love. The album will be out August 31 via Fat Wreck Chords.

Guitarist/vocalist Darius Koski says the album is “by far our absolutely most political record we’ve ever done. We don’t generally write very pointedly political songs. We tend to be a little more vague and abstract. But this one is pretty pointedly disgusted and pissed off and really directly attacking these fuckin’ people in office.” Singer Johnny Bonnel also added, “When sexism, racism and nationalism is the agenda, it’s time to speak up.”

Thrice - Palms

Thrice has announced a September 14th release date for their new album Palms. The album is the first Epitaph release for Thrice, who are widely regarded as one of the most innovative rock bands of their generation.

Co-produced by Thrice and Eric Palmquist and mixed by John Congleton, Palms encompasses everything from viscerally charged post-hardcore to piano-driven balladry. The most sonically expansive album so far in the band’s 20-year-history, Palms follows the critically acclaimed To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere (released via Vagrant Records in 2016).

Exhalants - Exhalants

Austin, TX trio Exhalants shared the first track from their forthcoming debut album.

After the ending of his Carl Sagan's Skate Shoes, Exhalants guitarist/vocalist Steve (the band prefers to be on a first-name only basis with you) further honed his already wide guitar vocabulary in the downtime. He soon recruited fellow CSSS alum Bill on bass and Tommy, the drummer in Body Pressure (known for his high-energy, hard-hitting precision) to form the power trio before you now.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle

I doubt anyone was really waiting for a sequel to 1995’s Jumanji, a movie best remembered for having Robin Williams and (at the time) impressive CGI. But here you go… a brand new Jumanji movie. And you know what? It’s not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

Maze Runner: The Death Cure

Even though The Death Cure comes three years after The Scorch Trials, we don’t get a short who’s who or a ‘what happened previously’ at the beginning of the movie. Instead, you are left to your own devices while the movie kicks off in high gear with a train heist that seems to be lifted straight out of Fast Five as Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his friends are on a mission to free their captured friend Minho (Ki Hong Lee) from the claws of WCKD. After that they have to go through the Flare-zombie infested wasteland and into the Last City to free a bunch of other people.

Living With Lions - Island
