The Beths - Expert In A Dying Field

The Beths announce their new album, Expert In A Dying Field, out September 16th on Carpark Records, and share the new single/video, “Silence Is Golden.” On Expert In A Dying Field, Elizabeth Stokes’ songwriting positions her somewhere between being a novelist and a documentarian. The songs collected here are autobiographical, but they’re also character sketches of relationships – platonic, familial, romantic – and more importantly, their aftermaths. The shapes and ghosts left in absences.

Time - Hydrangea

While its core members are veterans of Philly’s hardcore scene featuring former and current members of Kill Verona, No Roses and Shark Attack, Time is an animal completely different. Finding inspiration from the dark and heavy shoegaze and noise-pop of bands such as My Bloody Valentine, Sugar, Swervedriver and Catherine Wheel but with its own blushing melody and shine, the foundation for Hydrangea is built on nuanced layers of delayed guitars, lyrically fluid bass progressions and two-part vocal melodies, driven into the ground with relentless style and rhythm.
