Best known for his work with The Copyrights, Springfield, Illinois songwriter and musician Luke McNeill has long used Hospital Job as his distinct creative solo outlet. For his latest effort under the moniker, 1000 Places To Die Before You See, out now on Rad Girlfriend Records, McNeill wrote, recorded, mixed, and mastered all 11 tracks himself.

The follow-up to 2018’s Haze Like Me finds McNeill confronting aging, loss, inherited patterns, and the struggle to move on when original plans fall apart. It’s packed with introspection, bitterness, and self-deprecation. Sounds heavy on paper, but it never slows down McNeill’s knack for writing ridiculously catchy pop-punk tunes.

Turns out McNeill doesn’t have all the answers either. Who does? But in the process of taking a hard look in the mirror, he’s delivered one hell of an album that deserves to be played as loud as possible.
