Montreal’s The Speakeasy have announced their self-titled debut album, out January 19 via Thousand Islands Records (pre-order)asy.
Each track on their inaugural LP is a carefully crafted story, weaving together elements of nostalgia, passion, and a touch of the unknown. With their distinctive sound, The Speakeasy invites listeners into a world where musical boundaries dissolve.
Originating in the Bay Area, The Complicators first made waves with their debut EP and a split 7" with Empire Down. In the years since, the band worked hard at writing the songs that would eventually become this full length, rudely interrupted by the global pandemic, during which time their original drummer, Radu Poliac, moved away. On their latest album 'Endless' (out now on Fat Wreck Chords), Melbourne punks CLOWNS do it all. The 12 songs that make up the album swerve right and left abruptly, veering from frenetic punk to slower more psychedelic-tinged rock.

One of my favorite albums of the year was Calling Hours’ debut album ‘Say Less,’ out now on Revelation Records. Calling Hours might be a new band but its line-up boasts some familiar faces.

Right before their show at this year's Sjock festival, we caught up with The Bronx vocalist Matt Caughthran to talk about the 20th anniversary of the band's debut album, which gave us classics such as 'Heart Attack American, 'False Alarm' and 'The
