NOFX / Frank Turner - West Coast vs Wessex

NOFX and Frank Turner announced release details for a split covers album, West Coast Vs. Wessex, which will arrive on July 31, 2020. Due for release on Fat Wreck Chords, the project brings together for the first time ever the long-running Los Angeles punks and the London-based singer and ex-Million Dead frontman, for many years now both friends and fans of each other’s music.

Bob Mould - Blue Hearts

In the winter of 2019, Bob Mould bucked the era’s despair with his most melodic, upbeat album in ages, Sunshine Rock.

Cut to spring of 2020, and he has this to say: “We’re really in deep shit now.”

That sentiment informs the new full-length album, Blue Hearts, the raging-but-catchy yin to Sunshine Rock’s yang.

Recorded at the famed Electrical Audio in Chicago with Beau Sorenson engineering and Mould producing, Blue Hearts nods to Mould’s past while remaining firmly planted in the issues of the day.

Track listing:

Much The Same - Quitters Never Win (Remastered)

2019 saw the return of Much The Same, 13 years after their sophomore album Survive was released on Nitro Records.

Everything is Fine, their latest album released in 2019, consisted of 9 belting new tracks combining more melodic hooks and darker lyric subjects than the band had previously explored. The record was released on vinyl in 6 variations and was met with high praise from old and new fans alike.

Japandroids - Massey Fucking Hall

Vancouver duo Japandroids are announcing their first-ever live album today, reverently titled Massey Fucking Hall after the historic Toronto venue where it was recorded. To be released digitally on June 19 and vinyl later this fall on October 2, the 12 tracks include live versions of songs from all three of the band’s critically acclaimed studio albums. Today the band has shared the live version of “Heart Sweats”, originally appearing on 2009’s Post-Nothing.

Le Mans '66

Personally, I have always felt that the kind of people driving a Ferrari do so because they feel like they have to compensate for something else. But there is no denying that Ferrari was dominating the racing world in the mid 60’s. Which was a thorn in the eye of Henry Ford II. So when Ford went looking to stick it to Enzo Ferrari, he turned no further than to Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) and Ken Miles (Christian Bale), two guys crazy enough to maybe pull it off. Vroom vroom.
