Adam Rubenstein has shared the new single and music video “Firebreak Feat. DYAN”, the title track from his upcoming new LP, due out next week on August 14th via Spartan Records.

“This song is an outlier in that it was recorded entirely at home, minus a few overdubs sent my way,” shares Rubenstein. “I demoed the song with some temporary programmed beats and pads, and they kind of just stayed. DYAN, an amazing composer and artist, contributed some saxophone that glues the whole thing together. Lyrically the song deals with the idea as on fire as the world might seem, eventually the ashes have a way of settling, and we’re able to forge a better path forward.”

Firebreak marks the first new solo effort from Rubenstein in a decade, following 2016’s Nightly Waves. Rubenstein has spent years building a life in music that rarely sits still. From his early work in Midwest hardcore pioneers Split Lip to the long arc of Chamberlain, his voice has been shaped by movement, reinvention, and a refusal to stay pinned to one version of himself for too long.
