Album Reviews

With what is already the band’s seventh album, Elway have delivered a soundtrack for all of us who are fed up with the current state of affairs. Vocalist Tim Browne has never been one to sugarcoat things, but this new batch of songs finds him taking his thought-provoking lyrics to the next level with zero fucks left to give.
Mixed and mastered at The Blasting Room, ‘Nobody’s Going To Heaven’ sounds nice and crispy in all the right places. And while these Colorado natives have always identified as indie punks, this one sees the Colorado natives placing the emphasis on punk. All of the tracks on here are catchy, anthemic and brimming with an urgency that matches Browne’s level of frustration.
Is this a clever dissection of life in the US right now and all the absurdities that come with it? Yes, it is. It is also Elway’s best album to date and an absolute contender for album of the year.
