War Generation is Jon Bunch (Sense Field, Further Seems Forever), Brad Lehman (Maylene) and Craig Anderson (Ignite). Sounds pretty good, right? Well, so does “Start Somewhere Never Surrender”. Opening track “Nobody” races off in the highest gear and stays there before exploding in a catchy chorus. The riffs are great and Hot Water Music is never that far away. It’s anthemic and you can sing along after just one listen. Still sounds pretty kickass, right? Well, there’s just one problem… the entire album follows the same blueprint and the band never deviates from the formula. Not even once. The result is that every song sounds like the one before and after it and it becomes stale pretty quick. I honestly expected something a little more from these guys, based on their pedigree.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
