Album Reviews

Movements’ fourth full-length, Happier Now, packs twelve post-hardcore bangers that strike a sharp, delicate balance between angular riffs, strong melodic leads, and Brand New-levels of moodiness.
Produced once again by scene heavyweight Will Yip (Turnstile, Title Fight, Circa Survive), the record sounds predictably massive and bright. It ebbs and flows seamlessly, shifting from heavy atmospheric lulls to soaring melodies before tearing right into abrasive outbursts, all anchored by Patrick Miranda’s deeply introspective lyricism.
After the weird left-turn that was 2023’s Ruckus!, Happier Now is a return to form. It pulls heavily from the raw DNA of their standout debut Feel Something, but channels it through sharper songwriting and years of experience. The result? A lush and deeply layered album rich with texture that warrants repeat listens.
