Modern Baseball is a relatively new band out of Philadelphia who recently released “Sports” on Lame-O Records, a label run by their manager Eric Osman. They have this Midwest emo thing going on with a quirky, poppy twist. It’s a lot of fun to listen to and reminded me of Motion City Soundtrack and older Say Anything whereas the vocal delivery made me think of The Weakerthans.

They’ve got the pop-punk bounce happening in opener “Re-Do” or “See Ya, Sucker” but will go acoustic on our asses just as well in songs like “Cooke” or “@chlo3k”. It lends the album a nice pace and makes “Sports” one of those little charmers that you are instantly smitten with.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
