On their new album “The Negatives”, Cruel Hand have taken their sound and expanded on it. Don’t fret though, they’re still first and foremost a hardcore band. But opening track “Pissing – Spitting” has a punkier vibe than what we’re used to from these guys and it’s something you’ll find more of throughout “The Negatives”.

Simply put, it is nearly impossible to listen to “The Negatives” and say where punk begins, hardcore takes over or metal ends and it t makes “The Negatives” the band’s most diverse album to date. One constant though is that the energy level is high throughout the entire album with aggression and melody walking hand in hand. It’s more a matter of placing different accents really… they’ll have one song that’s more Metallica than Metallica these days (“Scars For The Well-Behaved”) right alongside a song that’s as pissed off as it is catchy (“’Heat”) yet all of the songs on blend together nicely. Kudos!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
