Following Contraband, director Baltasar Kormákur teams up once again with Mark Wahlberg in this action-comedy which centers around a naval intelligence officer (Wahlberg) and a DEA agent (Denzel Washington) who find themselves on the run after a botched attempt to infiltrate a drug cartel.
Okay, let me lay out the first scene here… Adam Sandler wakes up next to his beautiful wife (Salma Hayek), turns over and finds out there’s a deer in the room. He tells his wife to go and open the window but she starts screaming instead. This spooks the deer, which then proceeds to piss all over Sandler’s face. If this defines humor for you, then please… knock yourself out and watch Grown Ups 2, a ‘comedy’ that reunites Sandler with Kevin James, Chris Rock and David Spade following the success of the first movie.
“Days Of The Fallen Sun” sees Junius reunited with producer Will Benoit, who was also fiddling the knobs on the band’s first releases.
From Bruges comes Old Ivy, a hardcore band that taps from the same vein as La Dispute, Pianos Become The Teeth and Defeater.
From Phoenix comes Reubens Accomplice, a band that has already been around since 1994 and who have since toured with everyone from Jimmy Eat World and Karate to The Promise Ring and Pedro The Lion.
With Jon Naclerio (We Are the In Crowd, My Chemical Romance) on board as the producer, the guys in Moving Brooklyn certainly went out of their way to make “Intervals” sound good.
The Supersuckers recently released a new album called “Get The Hell”, which is out now on Acetate Records in the US and SPV in Europe. Needless to say, it’s great. I mean, after all they are the greatest rock ‘n roll band in the world.
