Rise Against's Tim McIlrath: "Don't come for advice to a 45-year-old guy who started his band before he had a cell phone"

A couple of hours before their absolutely amazing show at the Pukkelpop festival, we talked to Rise Against vocalist Tim McIlrath about the band’s past trajectory, their upcoming new album and being a political punk band in today’s climate.

GEL - Persona

GEL Persona Punk Rock Theory

Having released their debut full-length, ‘Only Constant,’ just last year and touring pretty much non-stop since, it’s surprising that GEL is already back with a new EP.

DoFlame - BENT

Toronto hardcore up-and-comer, DoFlame, recently joined the Blue Grape Music roster and today he's announcing his sophomore album, BENT, due out October 11th. Masterminded by 21-year-old punk, Mateo Naranjo, DoFlame is like the hardcore version of a coming-of-age movie, capturing all of the joy, confusion, and determination of being young and unsure of what’s next, just as effectively as it blends the unbridled aggression of heavy music with the swagger of hip hop.

The Black Pacific - Here Comes Our Wave

Jim Lindberg, lead singer and songwriter for long running California skate punk band, Pennywise, has recorded an 11-song album with his side project band, The Black Pacific, titled HERE COMES OUR WAVE, that will be released on September 20th via Toronto based Dine Alone Records (The Dirty Nil, Jimmy Eat World, NOBRO). The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Paul Miner (Touche’ Amore, Death By Stereo, H20) at his Buzzbomb Studios in Orange, CA over two sessions in the spring and fall of 2023.

State Champs - State Champs

Albany-raised, pop-punk band State Champs has announced their fifth studio album and self-titled record to be released on November 8 via Pure Noise Records. The band released their first two punchy singles off the album, “Silver Cloud” and "Too Late To Say." "Silver Cloud" was released with an accompanying music video where singer Derek DiScanio breaks the cycle of a mundane, unfulfilling life with a cast of characters played-out by the rest of the band.
