Southeastern Michigan ska punk sleuths The Boy Detective are officially back on the case with their highly anticipated sophomore full-length Disco Lunch, set for release November 7, 2025 via Punkerton Records. 

Disco Lunch is the band’s second full-length, following 2024’s Art Theft, and finds the Michigan crew doubling down on their signature mix of humor, heart, and headbang-worthy ska-punk energy. Expect relentless breakdowns, anthemic hooks, a few surprises from the vault, and the kind of live-ready energy only The Boy Detective can deliver.

“When we say we threw everything and the kitchen sink in, we meant it,” says vocalist Benny Capaul. “Disco Lunch is ten songs that span almost two decades. We opened the vault, collected, and distributed these gems for you. Let’s boogie!”

Born as a home-recording project between two friends trying to sneak out of the house for a few hours, The Boy Detective has grown into a full-fledged ska-punk powerhouse. Since their debut Banned from the Bathtub (2021) and the follow-up Art Theft (2024), the band has evolved into a seven-piece Megazord of horns, hooks, and humor, tearing through the Midwest ska scene with chaotic energy and undeniable charm. With Disco Lunch, The Boy Detective is ready to take their rightful place among the ska-punk greats—or at least secure control of the shake machine at your local McDonald’s.
