Moonraker returns with Me and the Bells, a twelve-song collision of anxiety, self-doubt, resentment, survival, and the strange determination it takes to keep showing up anyway. The Los Angeles melodic punk trio have always had a talent for making failure feel funny right up until it hurts, and Me and the Bells pushes that balance even further, pairing explosive hooks and relentless punk energy with lyrics that are anxious, sarcastic, painfully self-aware, and unmistakably human.

Drummer / vocalist David Green discusses the new album:

"Just keep ringing your bell. It’s something I say to myself a lot when I’m unsure. It’s something I say to other people when they ask me for advice, or when they ask me something maybe a little accidentally condescending. “How am I gonna get through this?” “What’s your secret?” “How do I get people to care about the art I make?” “How do you keep a band together for this long?” “Shouldn’t you be trying to make more money at this point in your life? What’s the plan here?” The answer is always, “Just keep ringing your bell.” People might hear you, people might not, but they definitely won’t be able to hear you if you stop ringing it. I’ve had the phrase ‘Me and the Bells’ written down in my notebook for almost as long as we’ve been a band, waiting for the right idea to present itself for it. It’s a phrase that means a lot of different things to all of us. Maybe these songs are my bells to ring. Maybe you find yourself living in a house with your wife and new daughter, suddenly more keenly aware and pissed off at the toxic nature of the patriarchy in our society, cause it’s not just you versus the world anymore, it’s you and the belles. Maybe it’s a deep-cut comedy reference to a throw-away joke you heard on a podcast like 13 years ago that always stuck with you. Maybe it’s whatever you want it to mean for you.

We’re all super proud of these songs. We got to go to Denver for a couple of weeks to record them with Chris Fogal (PEARS, The Bombpops, Joey Cape) at Black in Bluhm. The album Parts by his band, The Gamits, is one of our collective all time favorite records as a band, so getting to work with him was such a cool experience that helped point these songs even more in the direction I already knew they were going. The direction of, in my opinion, our best record yet."
