Ride shared the psychedelia-tinged surf video for their single, "Cali." The kaleidoscopic video mirrors the instantly addictive track, evoking the feelings of long hot summer days and new love.
Andy Bell says of the video, "'Cali' is a love song which features imagery of California and the ocean, so a video which features a surfing couple was the perfect fit. What I love about the video is that it avoids some of the retro surf film clichés and stays with a contemporary kind of look. The psychedelic nature of the editing is more in line with the Vaporwave aesthetic than 60's psychedelia. What Niall Trask has come up with got an immediate thumbs up from the entire band and is my favourite Ride video to date."
The video's director Niall Trask explains, "The video orbits around a bond and passing of time shared by two surfers, Harry and Melodie. I wanted to encapsulate the essence of the song's story by showing the tender moments of love and connection both in and out of the waves. Much of Ride's art direction in the past has been wave and surf themed, and for this song in particular it felt right to revisit this theme with a fresh approach."
