Phoenix punk-inspired rock 'n' roll outfit Ghost In The Willow has just released the official music video for their emotionally charged new single ‘Flick Of The Wrist.’ Directed by Eric Cannon, the video delves into the darker corners of the past, echoing the song’s somber themes of grief and loss.

Originally written in the mid-2000s, the song was born from a period of profound personal tragedy for frontman Gil Rodriguez, who lost several close friends to suicide between 2005–2006. “When you’re in your late teens and early twenties, it’s difficult to come to grips with such profound loss—especially on a large scale,” Rodriguez reflects. Though the track originated in a previous band, it found new life within Ghost In The Willow, recorded piece by piece over several months.

‘Flick Of The Wrist’ also features auxiliary member Sam Camacho on violin and backing vocals, whose layered strings bring added emotional weight to the track’s already heavy subject matter.

The release marks another chapter in a busy year for Ghost In The Willow. With their lineup solidified around Rodriguez, Sean Harris (drums), Ryan King (bass), and Zach Sealover (guitar)—plus Camacho and occasional appearances from the horn section known as The Haunted Horns—the band continues building momentum following their 2024 vinyl release of the 'I Was Once A Charming Man' EP and recent singles like 'Westerberg' and 'Self Control.'

With more material on the way throughout 2025, Ghost In The Willow remains as driven as ever—even as Rodriguez awaits a kidney transplant. 'Flick Of The Wrist' is a poignant reminder of where the band’s heart lies: honest, raw, and unafraid to face the shadows.
