In the two years that Tear Out The Heart has been around, they released an EP, signed with Victory and have recently released their debut full-length with the rather uninspired name “Violence”. As soon as “Dead By Dawn” kicks things off, you’ll hear what these guys are about… chugga chugga riffs, breakdowns, growls, forced clean vocals in the chorus along with poppy segments and a fair amount of keyboards. In short, everything your average 15-year-old should suck up.

They seem to know what they’re doing yet failed to add any kind of variation to their songs, resulting in an album where every single song sounds like the one preceding it. Not even the guest appearances in two songs by Beartooth’s Caleb Shomo and Story Of The Year’s Dan Marsala can make a difference there.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
