Following their acclaimed debut EP "Different Skies" (2024) and support shows for scene giants like Hot Water Music, Trophy Eyes, and Split Chain, TWIN MILL is now delivering again: With their new single "Heatwave" – perfectly timed for the current peak temperatures – they provide another powerful testament to why they are currently among the most exciting newcomer bands in the German alternative scene.
Musically, "Heatwave" builds on the raw energy of their debut EP, but takes a step further towards a darker grunge aesthetic – without losing the emotional directness that distinguishes Twin Mill. The sound is raw, edgy, and unpolished – somewhere between Nirvana, Superheaven, and Deftones – and perfectly hits the nerve of a generation torn between inner emptiness and external pressure. Lyrically, the song plunges headfirst into a state of emotional numbness – without build-up, without promises of healing. Instead of comfort, there is noise, pressure, and a ruthless confrontation with one's own lostness.
"A punch to the gut for everyone who has already driven themselves into a wall on principle. The song plunges headfirst into this state: numb, torn, aggressive. No build-up, no promise of healing. Just noise, pressure, and the firm grip on your own neck when everything else loses its hold. Broken, but with attitude, destruction as a matter of course. This isn't about redemption or hope. It's about burning in stagnation; a raw mirror for those who fall with open eyes – and still keep fighting," comments singer and guitarist Cédric Roser.
With their unpolished blend of Grunge, Punk, Emo, and Hardcore, Twin Mill solidifies their status as one of the most exciting new rock bands in the country with "Heatwave" – loud, honest, emotional, and uncompromising. Upcoming shows include gigs with Deez Nuts and Defeater.
