Formerly known as Sad And French, this Brooklyn trio decided to change their name after welcoming a drummer into the fold and going at it full force rather than sticking to their brand of acoustic punk. After settling on Make War as their new nom de plume, they went and re-recorded Sad And French’s debut album.

With drums banging and distorted riffs going at it like there’s no tomorrow, these songs have way more of an impact on me than their acoustic siblings. Jose Prieto’s slightly gruff voice also works better with these punked up versions. If you like Restorations or older Gaslight Anthem, you’ll probably take a shine to these tunes. They’re not perfect quite yet, but I’m thinking it’s only a matter of time now before Make War get it completely right.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
