After a couple of very cool releases, The Hope Conspiracy went on a hiatus only to strike back even harder with 2006’s “Death Knows Your Name”. After that things became a bit quiet again which makes sense seeing as the band members live spread out all over the States. It makes rehearsing and touring a bit more difficult I guess.

So I was all the more excited to hear their new 7”. With relatively simple riffs, pummeling drums and the eardrum-piercing screams of Kevin Baker, they kill all the competition. “Greed Taught, War Driven” comes with a kickass rock n roll riff while “The Dismal Tide” shows the band’s sludgier side. Whatever approach they choose to take, it sounds amazing, which only makes it harder to bear that this EP boasts just three new songs. I want more! Much, much more!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
