Tacoma, WA punk rock trio Let Me Downs have released their new single, “Ellen C.,” via Felony Records. The song is the first taste of the band’s yet-to-be-titled third studio album, currently slated for release in early 2027.

Driven by the energetic, melodic sound that defined punk rock in the ’90s and early 2000s, “Ellen C.” pairs an emotional story of love and loss with the band’s direct, hook-heavy approach. Influenced by bands including The Bouncing Souls, No Use For A Name, Green Day, Face To Face and MxPx, Let Me Downs turn a deeply personal experience into a heartfelt punk anthem about accepting when two people’s paths begin moving in different directions.

The band says: “‘Ellen C.’ is about both finding and losing that special someone in your life. People change. Feelings change. Life changes. Sometimes, as much as you want to hold on and try to make it work, you have no choice but to let go. You have to let them continue on their journey, even if you are no longer going down that road with them.”

Formed in Tacoma in 2019, Let Me Downs have released two full-length albums: the self-released Tacoma Is for Lovers in 2021 and North by Southwest, released through Felony Records in 2025. The band is currently in the studio working on its third album, with “Ellen C.” opening the door to its next chapter.

Shortly after the single’s release, Let Me Downs will embark on the Home Away To Home Tour, a West Coast run beginning August 20 at Yucca Tap Room in Tempe, Arizona. The tour will take the trio through California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, including a stop at the legendary 924 Gilman in Berkeley.
