In the lead up to the release of 'The Hives Forever Forever The Hives', Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist said the band wanted to make an album with nothing but singles, with a stadium-orientated sound. And that’s exactly what they did on ‘The Hives Forever Forever The Hives’. While 2023’s ‘The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons’ was an entirely satisfying return for the legendary Swedish rockers, the new album blows that one clean out of the water.

‘Enough Is Enough’ and ‘Hooray Hooray Hooray’ are the kind of life-affirming thrill rides that will improve your day no matter how shitty it was. ‘Bad Call’ sees The Hives flexing their glam rock strut, while the rager that is ‘O.C.D.O.D.’ finds the Swedes revisiting their ‘Barely Legal’ days. ‘Legalize Living’ is pure rock ‘n roll bliss and ‘Roll Out The Red Carpet’ is exactly what every audience will do at future shows in return for a chance to belt along with the chorus. And whereas other bands will stuff an album with lesser songs towards the end of the album, The Hives finish incredibly strong with the album's best songs in the form of the undeniably catchy  ‘They Can’t Hear The Music’, 'Path Of Most Resistance' and the title track.

Seven albums and 30 years in, The Hives have somehow managed to deliver one of their best albums to date. The Hives Forever? Hell yes!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
