Do you like your punk rock anthemic and complete with raspy vocals, big choruses and a little bit of slide guitar on the side? But can’t be bothered to listen to old albums because… you know, the recording quality is like so last century and just… ugh? Don’t worry, Ann Beretta have got you covered with ‘Old Scars, New Blood’. Well, actually they covered themselves and re-recorded thirteen of their old songs. Don’t call it a greatest hits album, but more of a collection where the band revisited their personal favorites.

That’s right. On their first album in over a decade, they couldn’t even be bothered to write new songs. That’s cool though. The band will be releasing a brand spankin’ new album later this year and this one serves as a mighty fine reminder of just how awesome this band was. And still is.

Highly recommended for all the fans of Hot Water Music, Bouncing Souls, Avail, Iron Chic and general awesomeness.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
