Swedish melodic skate punk band Mistakes Were Made have released “W.U.F.”, a track from their recently released three-song EP Corporate Punks.

Based in Norrköping, Mistakes Were Made combine fast, guitar-driven punk rock with melodic hooks, layered vocals and upbeat arrangements. The band draws on the sound of 90s Swedish skate punk and 2000s melodic punk and alternative rock, with influences including Millencolin, NOFX, Bad Religion, Rise Against and Useless ID.

“W.U.F.” focuses on different ways of responding to a future that appears increasingly uncertain. The song considers the temptation to live entirely in the present and leave the consequences for later, the belief that things will eventually work themselves out, and the possibility of recognizing that circumstances may already be moving beyond control.

The track is part of Corporate Punks, which addresses a range of everyday anxieties and uncertainties. Across its three songs, the EP touches on hangovers, anxiety, relationships breaking down and the difficulty of maintaining the appearance that everything is under control.
