The Van Pelt will release their new album Remain Obscure on September 18 via Ernest Jenning Record Co. Today, the band shares “A Voralberg Of The Mind,” the latest single from the record.

The song takes its title from the album’s central idea, imagining a place removed from the pressures of success and the demands of public attention. It follows the album’s first single, “Kris Is Riding Horses In Ojai.”

Formed in New York City in 1993 around singer, guitarist, and songwriter Chris Leo, The Van Pelt released two influential albums in the 1990s, Stealing From Our Favorite Thieves and Sultans Of Sentiment. After reuniting in the 2000s, the band returned with Imaginary Third and, in 2023, Artisans & Merchants, their first album of new material in more than two decades.

Remain Obscure is the band’s fifth studio album and continues their blend of intricate guitars, literary songwriting, and restless experimentation.

The Van Pelt will celebrate the album with a release show October 2 at Crossroads in Garwood, NJ, with Quiz Show (ex-Shudder To Think) and a special guest.
