Nearly two decades after Marien Nicotine left The Apers and started The Windowsill because he wanted to play punk rock again, the band is still very much alive and kicking.

Es War Eine Verrückte Zeit (It Was a Crazy Time) is the fifth album by Dutch pop-punks The Windowsill, and it comes packed with a dozen new songs that find them doing exactly what you want them to: delivering highly melodic slices of pop-punk brimming with energy, buzzing guitars, and plenty of hooks.

There’s not a single dud to be found here. Every song boasts either a solid guitar lead, a catchy chorus, or both, and they all serve as the perfect antidote to boredom. If tracks like “Better Days”, the Weezer-esque "Full Of Terrors" or “Halfway Line” don’t considerably brighten up your day—or, at the very least, plaster a smile across your face—I honestly don’t know what will.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
