East Los Angeles garage-punk band Hyper Minds have signed with DC-Jam Records, distributed by Virgin Music Group, as they prepare to release their forthcoming album.

Formed in 2024, Hyper Minds play loud, fast and hard-hitting garage punk driven by relentless choruses, rapid-fire vocals and the restless energy of a mind that refuses to slow down. Drawing influence from The Hives, Osees, Ramones and The Spits, the band has been building an audience throughout Los Angeles with shows at Permanent Records Roadhouse, Alex’s Bar and Gold-Diggers.

The band’s newest single, “Sink or Swim,” captures that urgency and offers a first taste of the music that will appear on their upcoming album. The lineup features Roland on guitar and vocals, delivering melodies at a pace that blurs the line between singing and sprinting. Juan and Omar form the rhythm section, punching through on bass and drums, while Robert adds lead-guitar flourishes—or glitches—that give the songs another jolt of nervous energy.

Beneath the speed and chaos is a desire to connect with listeners who may be dealing with struggles of their own.

“I want people to know that they’re not alone in the struggle, and there shouldn’t be any shame or embarrassment attached to the challenges they face in their lives,” Roland says.
