The Sleights return with Atari, a brand new 4-song EP dropping October 24, 2025. Raw, urgent, and packed with the high-energy hooks the band has become known for, Atari marks their latest evolution and a reminder that punk is alive and well in Colorado Springs. To celebrate the announcement, we are premiering the video for first single, "Earthworms," a song that has already been making waves at recent shows. The gritty new music video is directed by rising videographer Jarrett Barnes. Longtime friend of the band, Barnes captured the song’s heavy emotional themes and kinetic performance energy in a DIY-style shoot during a thunderstorm and power outage that only added to the atmosphere.
“We had an insane thunderstorm and even lost power for a bit. It totally set the mood for the shoot,” says vocalist/guitarist Luke Blanton. “It hits all the right spots and ends shows with a sense of finality. The song deals with the dread of knowing a relationship is going south, and understanding there is nothing left you can do but see it through until the bitter end.”
Formed in 2014, The Sleights have become a cornerstone of Colorado's punk scene, known for their explosive live shows, and tight, punchy songwriting. Their sound blends classic punk aggression with straight-ahead rock & roll grit. The band has self-released five EPs and two full-length albums, and has toured extensively throughout the Midwest, West Coast, and Texas. Their most recent full-length, This One’s Gonna Hurt, dropped in April 2025, continuing their tradition of high-impact, no-frills punk rock.
With Atari, The Sleights double down on what they do best — loud, fast, emotionally charged music built for stage dives and singalongs. It will be released as a limited-edition vinyl (250 copies only) in two exclusive color variants — 8 Bit White and Game Over Pink — along with a full digital release on all major streaming platforms. Vinyl copies will be available via the band’s Bandcamp page.
