Berlin-based music collective OMSK recently released their fourth single, “GÖTTER”, marking a new chapter in the group’s musical development.

Since forming, OMSK have explored elements of post-punk, krautrock and new wave, combining bass-driven rhythms, guitar riffs and prominent vocals. Their lyrics often use straightforward language while leaving room for broader interpretations.

“GÖTTER” places the guitar at the forefront, resulting in a direct and anthemic rock track that moves away from some of the band’s more traditional post-punk influences. The song focuses on themes of exhaustion, apathy and the pursuit of perfection, examining the pressures associated with self-optimization, visibility and control in modern society.

Lyrically, the track contrasts the desire to achieve an almost godlike status with an alternative idea: accepting human limitations and embracing vulnerability and impermanence.

Rather than presenting these themes as a direct condemnation of modern life, OMSK frame “GÖTTER” as a reflection on what it means to remain human in a culture increasingly focused on achievement and perfection.

The release follows the band’s ongoing exploration of identity and self-discovery, while introducing a more openly rock-oriented sound.
