The Young Hearts are a relatively new band out of the UK, who have just released their second EP, “Honestly, I’m Just Thinking”.

The EP comes with four songs of the emo-ish alt-rock variety that should please fans of acts like Deaf Havana and Mallory Knox. These aren’t happy songs, dealing with subjects like loss, guilt and pain instead. But there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and the music itself is uplifting enough. And I have to hand it to them, things sound great.

But… yes, there is almost always a but… they are hardly the first band to pursue this kind of sound. Which would be okay if they had done it better than anyone who came before them. And that’s unfortunately where The Young Hearts still fall short.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
