Out of Ann Arbor, Michigan comes Pity Sex… a band with arguably one of the best band names I’ve heard in quite some time. And it doesn’t stop there! The shoegazer/noise pop they dish out on “Feast Of Love” is a treat to listen to. I’m guessing these guys (and one girl) spent a lot of their weekly allowance on albums by My Bloody Valentine, Hum, Ride while growing up. And after starting a band, they probably spent even more money on guitar effects.

The fuzzed out guitars seem to be on loan from Dinosaur Jr and the dual vocals by vocalist/guitarist Brennan Greaves and Britty Drake work wonders for the band. His is a solemn croon, hers is more siren-like. “Feast Of Love” will probably not have the same impact as some of the releases by the abovementioned bands. Guess Pity Sex will have to be content knowing that they released one hell of a good album!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
