Five years after “Autumn Of The Seraphs”, PInback is back at it again with “Information Retrieved”. As soon as you hit play, it’s all vintage Pinback… trickling guitar lines, tight rhythms and those delicate vocals that we’ve come to love over their past releases.

Unfortunately I was unable to find a new “Loro” or “Good To Sea” on here. It doesn’t mean that “Information Retrieved” is a bad album, it’s just not as good as their previous releases. “Sherman” however hits the mark and immediately founds its way under my skin and the guitar that runs through “Glide” as if it’s being followed is excellent as well.

Listening to Pinback will probably always be time well spent and I’m sure that I’ll be listening to this one a lot over the following months, yet I had expected just a little more after five years.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
