If you are as sick as me of hearing Mariah Carey singing about how all she wants for Christmas is you, Margate has now released the perfect antidote in the form of the “Snow Day” EP. It’s a short blast of punkrock holidays cheer that comes with three highly addictive new tunes as well as two acoustic renditions which… well, are slightly less addictive.
The EP opens with the title track, the perfect soundtrack for making a mad dash through the snow. “Xmas At Potsie’s” is the perfect soundtrack for knitting your very own uglyass Christmas sweater and “I Had A Tall One” is the perfect soundtrack while drinking that special Christmas lager. Next up are acoustic renditions of “Snow Day” and “I Had A Tall One”. Fun enough, but I like the electrified versions better.
I had never heard of Margate before, but this is a solid EP that I will likely still be blasting out loud well into the new year.
