Somewhere over the Summer, LA’s Holyfangs released their debut EP, the aptly titled ‘Holyfangs: I’. What to expect? Four songs worth of fast-paced melodic punk rock with gritty vocals and just the right amount of whoa’s to make you feel comfortable shouting along without having to learn the actual lyrics.

The band features an ex-member of Spanish Love Songs, but they don’t sound anything like those guys. Instead, Holyfangs take cues from the likes of Banner Pilot and No Trigger with maybe a dash of Off With Their Heads. They waste no time and burst out of the gates with ‘Breathing Out’, release an absolute banger in the form of ‘Meditation On Being’ and then take a bow with ‘This Might Take A While’.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
