Back with their first new material since their 2019 debut album ‘Glimmer,’ is New York’s Freezing Cold. Recorded at Brooklyn’s Studio G Recording Studios with Richard Salino, the two tracks that make up this 7” are downright gorgeous indie-rock meets emo gems driven by strong melodies, an even stronger rhythm section and three-part harmonies that you wish will never end. Of the two, ‘Stuck On Hold’ is the more upbeat one built around a J Mascis-like riff, while ‘Drawn To Scale’ packs a slightly more brooding tone.

Consisting of Angie Boylan (formerly of Aye Nako and most recently found behind the drums in Sleater-Kinney), Jeff Cunningham (formerly of Bridge and Tunnel) and Leanne Butkovic (formerly of Never) on bass, this trio sounds like a well-oiled machine on these two tracks that will make Tigers Jaw fans long for more, which will hopefully follow… soon-ish?

Track list:

  1. Stuck On Hold
  2. Drawn To Scale

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
