“Polaroid Picture” is the name of Frank Turner’s new EP with the title track being lifted off of last year’s “Tape Deck Heart”. Rounding out this 5-song EP is the previously unreleased number “Sweet Albion Blues” along with three covers: Frightened Rabbit’s “The Modern Leper”, Biffy Clyro’s “Who’s Got A Match” and the Weakerthans’ “Plea From A Cat Named Virtute”.

While “Polaroid Picture” is not the best song on “Tape Deck Heart”, it’s still okay. That’s about as much as can be said about the three covers at hand here. The only one that stands out is Turner’s live take on the Weakerthans tune. “Sweet Albion Blues” is a fast-paced, up-beat acoustic song that is not particularly noteworthy but still… not bad.

“Polaroid Picture” in one word? Okay.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
