Every Time I Die is back and rather than mellowing out as the years go by, these guys seem to get more intense and more pissed off with every single album. Seeing as “Ex Lives” is already their sixth album, it makes you wonder how much further they can go before that throbbing vein on their forehead finally bursts.

Opener “Underwater Bimbos From Outer Space” gets to kick things off and does so voraciously. Well, basically every song on here is voracious… “Holy Book Of Dilemma” is like that guy that knocks you out and “A Wild, Shameless Plain” is the one that will come up and kick you when you already down. “Revival Mode” is a bit more mellow… groovy rock n roll with a kickass riff. Every Time I Die likes to surprise as well from time to time and so they throw a banjo into the mix on “Partying Is Such Sweet Sorrow” or pour an organ over “Indian Giver”.

37 Minutes of awesome, that’s basically what “Ex Lives” boils down to. Please hold on tight, things are about to get rocky!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
