In case you’re like me and miss the days where you could turn on the radio and hear some decent alternative rock, Diamond Youth just released an album for you, called “Nothing Matters”. The band likes to fool around with some different vibes, yet everything blends together nicely thanks to mostly mid-tempo rhythms and catchy hooks,. There’s the upbeat single that is “Thought I Had It Right”, the surf-y “In The Clouds”, the darker “The Nothing”… there’s a little bit of everything to be honest.

Imagine Muse dropping their some of their most bombastic tendencies and hooking up with Weezer to record some tunes, and then having Queens of the Stone Age join them in the studio. That’s kinda what the eleven songs on “Nothing Matters” sound like. Dreamy one moment, rocking the next. “Nothing Matters” is definitely a fun listen, but I can’t help but think they can still do one better.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
