While most of the news coming out of Washington D.C. these days feels bleak, every now and then a spark of light breaks through. Case in point: the new six-song EP from American Television, out now on Smartpunk Records.
Taking cues from bands like Off With Their Heads as well as The Copyrights and melodic punk rock with gravelly vocals in general, American Television burn through these six songs with hard-hitting drums, solid hooks and melodies and plenty of singalong action. They aren’t reinventing the wheel here, but American Television get the job done in just 17 minutes.
