No idea how this partnership came about but “Hot War” sees OC punk legends The Adolescents team up with Russia’s Svetlanas. Both bands bring in two brand new tracks, which in the case of the Adolescents are called “Fukushima Lemon Twist” and “Forever Summer”. As always, the Adolescents do what they do best… crank out some fine punk tunes. Nothing more, nothing less.
The female-fronted Svetlanas’ contributions are “Tales From The Alpha Brigade” and “Step Back” (preferably pronounced with a thick Russian accent) and while I’m not the biggest of the snarly vocals, the songs are not too shabby.
If you’re looking for a fun punk release to get you through the next ten minutes, feel free to check out this bad boy. Rumor has it that Putin himself spins it every day before he embarks on one of his manly outdoor adventures.
Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
