Breakers
6.0
Get The Net is the solo project of Ryan Raichilson, the owner of Bright & Barrow Records, who has put out releases by The New Rochelles, The Scutches and Direct Hit! when he isn’t singing songs about his appendix, brain-eating girlfriends or being chased by a demon.
“Breakers”, his debut album, comes with 14 pop-punk tracks that are inspired by the likes of Teenage Bottlerocket and Banner Pilot. All of the tracks on here are pretty straight-forward yet catchy and come with plenty of fast-paced drums and catchy melodies. Sure, it’s not exactly original and maybe 14 songs is a bit too much of a good thing. But there is absolutely nothing wrong with tracks like “She Ate My Brain”, “Witch In My Basement” and “For Joanna”.
