Comeback Kid have announced their eighth studio album, Chosen Hell, due November 6 via SharpTone Records in the U.S. and Dine Alone Records in Canada.
The album builds on the band’s established hardcore sound while incorporating elements of modern metal, punk and more melodic material. According to the band, the record expands on the musical approach that has defined their work while introducing new contrasts.
Comeback Kid have also released the video for the album’s title track, “Chosen Hell.” The song addresses themes of morality, personal choices and well-being.
“The theme of the title track ‘Chosen Hell’ on our new album touches on morality and ethics,” vocalist Andrew Neufeld explains. “Something as simple as right or wrong. Good or evil. Healthy or unhealthy, and our ability to make a choice.”
Neufeld adds that the song considers how people can become stuck in situations they know are harmful to their well-being, concluding, “The outcome is what we make of it.”
The album artwork is based on an actual structure built by Australian artist Callum Preston in Melbourne.
